Above And Beyond...

A Sloe Start

Last year we bought a Sloe making kit in the sale and today we headed to Newport Wetlands to pick some as we'd seen piles of them late August. It was a 'sloe' start as it looked liked someone else had first pick as there wasn't as many as we'd seen previously!

The blipfoto is taken on the coastal path of the Wetlands looking towards the English coast with Flat Holm and Steep Holm islands in The Bristol Channel. I liked the patterns in the mud and the light on the sea.

On getting home I managed to do a litre of Gin, and have another litre of Gin. The two litres of gin cost £15 - a good deal in duty free coming back from Lanzarote last year. It should be drinkeable at Christmas and even better if left longer.

This evening the youngest daughter drove over from Bristol to return her lease hire car she had in my name, which they collect on Thursday. She doesn't need a car now with a ten minute walk to work. Nice!
