Point to Pinnacle recce

With the P2P race in just over 1 months time, we decided that a recce would be a good idea. We wanted to see what the gradient was like, and what we would be battling against. We drove up to the top (where it was snowing), cycled down to the sea (very cold), locked our bikes up and started running.
After about 2km, the climb began, and continued at the same gradient of about 6% for the entire way. This seemed alright at first, but with about 5km to go it really began to get to us, our calves were very tight and bored of the monotony.
Very useful recce, and now to prepare for the real thing!
