Stability!

If you know this is the anniversary of the week of the Battle of Trafalgar (21st October 1805) then you will be familiar with the mighty ships of the British Royal Navy and the raging battle between the French and the British as the week progressed. Lord Horatio Nelson lost his life aboard HMS Victory after close engagement with the French Redoutable. He was shot on the quarterdeck of his own ship.
This bench reminds us of the stability of the Royal Navy at that time, the ever changing seastate and weather, and the coming together of dependable teams that housed the ships of the Royal Navy.
The wood selected for this bench was old english oak and was air dried for at least nine years.
