A Fine Example

Spotted this fine statue outside Crow Wood Leisure and Equestrian Centre, Burnley.  I couldn't see any kind of information plaque and my Google efforts also drew a blank.  No matter - I thought it a rather magnificent statue.

Update:

The bronze statue is of “Sporting Maori Girl” – affectionately known as ‘Twiggy’.    She was an Irish draught x Thoroughbred hunter and stood 17.1 hands high.

She sadly died in 2006 of heart failure on a cross country course, doing what she did best.
