Damselfly.

What a day!!!!

We went into town earlyish and had noodles for breakfast. The we jumped on a bus and headed to WuZhi (5 finger) Mountain.

When we got off the bus we were met by guys in tuktuks who you have to pay to take you to the gate of the mountain. There are three different activities.

You can go to the very top of the mountain and get the view. "Too cloudy today, you can't see anything because the peaks are in the clouds."

You can go white water rafting. "It's 11:00. The boats aren't ready till 1:30."

You can walk around the mountain.

Since option three was the only one going at the time we went for a walk. It was a wonderful nature walk. A few different types of birds and tons of butterflies and dragonflies... and lot what ended up being my blip these unbelievably beautiful black damselflies. We are both nature lovers and we had a great time. Terri spent forever getting close to three beautiful black swallowtail butterflies. They just sat there while she took picture after picture. She almost touched their wings and they still didn't move. the walk through the forest was very relaxing too. Very peaceful. Something you don;t get to say very often in China.

We arrived back at the start at 1:37 and were told that we couldn't go white water rafting because it was at 1:30. After 5 more people arrived, I think they decided that an extra 1000 yuan was too much to refuse so they let us go. I didn't know you got so wet, I actually never even thought about it but this was pretty severe white water rafting. There were just the two of us in the boat.. They gave us a paddle and a big stick and told us to go down the river and around a bend. We didn't take spare clothes so we knew we were in for a tough time.

The first part of the journey was an 8 meter high slide where, at the bottom the whole boat and us went underwater. After various slides and bumps. rocks, trees, bushes and collisions with other boats, we finally made it to the other end exhausted. IT WAS AWESOME!!!

Back on the bus (still wringing wet) for the one hour trip back and then a BATH and dinner and now sleep. Night blippers.. We head back to Sanya tomorrow.

I have backblipped the past few days if you're interested.
