Celebrate!

The main street along our ocean cliffs was closed to vehicles for the first time this morning, and open wide for pedestrians, bicyclists, walkers, skaters, people on stilts, dogs, children, musicians and all manner of spectacle. A pod of dolphins were out for their own stroll in the ocean. You could try Taiko drumming, hula hooping and Segway transporters; get your face painted, win a pizza or learn about bike safety. Massage? no problem. A parcourse for dogs--you bet. Get your bike tuned, scale a portable climbing wall, or learn about the creatures in the sea. It was a warm pleasant morning and hundreds of people were out celebrating the absence of motorized vehicles. And none too soon, considering our gas prices are pushing $5 per gallon.
