Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Change of Scene

As we were headed north to the ferry early this morning and it was pouring cats and dogs and there was a gale warning out for the Straits of Georgia, we had this conversation (again!) about whether we just might want to drain the water out of our cabin for the winter and not come back til spring.    Be sensible?   But as we got close to the Canadian border it cleared up and I took this horizontal photo out the window in  BC with the iPhone because I love this colorful red bush in rows that goes for miles along this route in Delta and Surrey this time of the year.    (Im knitting a project right now with this color combo of the purplely red, green and straw…)   These are blueberry bushes, the biggest export fruit in BC. ( and why one can’t bring blueberries into BC from the USA).  They like moist soil but not bogs like cranberries (BC has lots of those too)  and I think I’ve not blipped them before….it's about the color!  If it was a clear day you'd see mountains with snow in the back..

We got to the ferry and discovered the gale warning had been lifted (it’s always a possibility the ferry won’t run and we’d have to stay in Tsawwassen, like the rest of the family did last year on thanksgiving)  )  and altho the rain came back on the straits, and our car was totally in the open in the rain (extra) on the new ferry (first time for that) it quit again when we got to our little boat on Galiano, and we got to the cabin dry and safe.

ALL IS WELL!  (and we probably won’t have that conversation again til after Christmas  :-))
