Tuesday 20 January 2009: In the Pink
A sunny day in Leeds, I nipped out from my desk to have look around the garden and discovered that some of my alpines are getting ready for the Spring. This is Armeria maritima also known as Thrift or Sea Pink. I have a 24inch pot planted with these around the perimeter and various other alpines set in gravel in the middle (with various spring bulbs set read for spring below them).
The colour made me think that spring is just around the corner, then it started raining!
