Sunday 14 October 2012: Looks normal, but.....
In the so-called "Fan-House" on top of the gasturbine of unit EC 7.
In this "container" there are seven fans which are meant for cooling of several parts of the gasturbine.
The big fans in the middle have 75 KiloWatts electric motors; so these are big ones. There is always one fan running and the second one starts when the temperature in the enclosure of the gasturbine rises. The third one is for back-up.
When we stopped the fan in the middle we noticed it came to a standstill very fast and a scratching noise was heard.
We noticed some debris onder the bearings and some cracks in the fancasing. Looking at one of the bearings we could say it was completely demolished....
So: next week some repairs is coming up.
Better in LARGE....
Detail in the foreground(when viewed in large:) new maintenance switches have to be connected, take a look at diameter of the cable...
