Clamming Up

Weather pretty dire today, so we are trying to finish off loads of work around the house. We packed up C's car with the dishwasher that was in the house when we moved in (it stopped working after a month, and can't be repaired). We also loaded up lots of copper piping that was removed when the builders started on the utility room (not quite finished, but almost). I then Googled the  nearest tip Recycling Centre only to find that it's closed on Wednesdays! The copper piping will be going to a scrap metal dealers, but that's in the same road as the recycling place so no point taking either.
It was then on to B&Q - absolutely heaving, and everyone had grey hair!! Of course, it's "silver day" (or whatever it's called).
So this is another EB really. It's a sea shell that we picked up somewhere - I think it was off the island of Libong, and is probably a smallish giant clam (the really giant ones were the sort that Hans and Lotte Hass were always almost trapping their feet in) - it resembles a huge oyster shell. It's perfect for storing an avocado whilst it's ripening.
My journal has jumped all over the place. Do you remember Alistair Cooke's "Letter from America"? That would start off on one subject and then teeter of in a totally different direction. It was always fascinating though, unlike my ramblings.
