The Edge of the Wold

First sunset

My first entry of 2018. It was an afternoon of dreamy light after a wet, windy and sometimes gloomy weather start to the year. Gus and I went for an afternoon high tide walk down to Summerhouse Point, looking out for some new additions to the 2018 bird list. As we headed home, the tide was ebbing away and Arnside Knott was reflecting in the still estuary with the sunset sky.

The year list is ticking along well after a trip out on the 1st to Walney with S, J & M; and a visit to Heysham on the 2nd on an unsuccessful mission to see the lonely chough that's been there for a few weeks. The last two days I have been back at work after six months away, that's going to take a bit of getting used to.
