Epiphany

The Three Kings of Orient, following a star, arrive, behold, bestow spices and treasure, and depart by another route.

"As with gladness men of old did the guiding star behold,
As with joy they hailed its light, leading onward, beaming bright,
So, most gracious Lord, may we evermore be led to thee."
— Reginald Heber (1783-1826; Bishop of Calcutta)

"Arise, shine; for your light has come."
— Isaiah 60:1

"I am the light of the world."
— John 8:12

As I drove to the vigil mass I noticed, for the first time since the solstice, a bit of light remaining in the sky. A welcome sign in the dark Northwest.
