Another gorgeous day for a walk

-7 this morning but blue sky and sun again - this picture was taken using the Google Cardboard VR camera app.  In fact the river captured is flowing in a straight-ish line.

The neat thing about this app (other than it being free) is that it captures audio in 360 degrees as well, appropriate to the direction the camera is pointing in.  This means that when you view it in a Google Cardboard headset you get the appropriate river gurgle for the direction you happen to be looking.  You'll just have to imagine it here.

The major technical limitation (other than my smartphone camera quality) is that the app freezes the camera settings so it can "stitch" the shot into a uniform 360 degree view.  This makes it tricky when parts of the view are substantially lighter/darker - as you can see.
