Alwinton walk

The start of a fortnight's annual leave from the day job!

First the obligatory walk on the Common with Louie. We were there quite a while, watching birds stealing taking nuts from the squirrel feeders, and then watching several red squirrels on the feeders - they seemed a little wary of the birds. Rabbits and deer in the woods too.

MrM and I had intended to spend the rest of the day working in one way or another, but it was such glorious weather that we had a change of plan and went for a walk instead. MrM drove us down to Alwinton, and we walked along Clennell Street (an ancient drove road) over the tops before dropping down in to the River Alwin valley, returning to Alwinton on a forestry track by the river. A really nice walk - about 5 miles and nothing too strenuous - with some fabulous views.
