year of the dog

the Radish is very excited.

today's strange occurrence:  awoken at 6.44 by a howling close to the house that sounded like a wolf/large dog. Radish and i lay still, listening, and decided, as if by osmosis, not to get up and investigate.  we are both mostly cowardly.
number of power cuts so far:  3 *

* as i tried to heat the main oven to cook a haunch of venison, i realised what had caused the power cuts - in the 10 years we've had the range, the big oven has probably been used less than 20 times - v annoying.
