Sea meets Europe

We were on the coast today. A brilliant blue day, in which the wind that had blown gently over the land mass to the north was now from the south, from thousands of miles of ocean. It was a few degrees cooler, and sparkling.

I love the colours here - the blue-green of the spiky vegetation on the dunes, the gold of the fine sand, the varied blues of the sea, the uniform blue of the sky.

We walked to the border with Spain today. Tomorrow we go inland. And then it’ll be back to the grey - and the cold.
