Team Hummie

It was a good thing today's games featured Team Hummie because most of the other competitors spent so much time grumbling about the weather that they were useless, especially when they saw the water venue snowed over. (See Extra)  They didn't seem bothered by the irony of the fact that these are the winter games and it's winter.  It has been bitterly cold and windy and most of the athletes couldn't be lured from their burrows, nests or trees by any means so the officials were left with no options except to hope common sense would prevail before the closing ceremonies.

No member of Team Hummie was intimidated by the weather though, and by rights should have been.  These tiny little athletes braved cold wind and snow flurries along with the challenge of swinging feeders which complicated things even more.  Aerial Fencing and Precision Target (Extra) competitions were on the schedule and at the end of the day Team Hummie had racked up two gold medals, three silver and three bronze.

Tomorrow it's going to be up to Team Squirrel to bring home the medals.  So far they've been scarce and everyone's hoping it's because they're practicing somewhere.   Hoping, hoping, hoping.
