Ready or Not

Here are the fruits (or vegetables) of yesterday's labor. The good, but puzzling, news is that even though the lids didn't make that lovely popping sound when they came out of the steamer, the seals are just fine and solid. I've never had that happen before with canning; I usually rely on my ears to tell me everything's okay.
