Thank You For the Days ..

Out and Back

The High Street was busy this morning. The council workmen were clearing the pavements while a digger was shovelling tons of snow from the road into the back of a truck for dumping in the big car park on the edge of town.

We failed to find any milk - the only thing we were short of - at the Coop.  They had had a delivery, but it was all gone when we got there at  mid-day. We did find some at McColls, just as it was selling out.  I told TM to keep a good grip on it.  I've not forgotten the time I got the last Christmas turkey on the shelves at M&S, and someone pinched it out of my trolley while I was looking the other way!

Having been immolated for three whole days (it felt like three weeks), we had a walk around with no particular purpose other than a change of scene.  Mary Queen of Scots House looked fine with its gardens filled with snow.  Not so inviting, the seating outside the Capon Tree restaurant, which is the extra.  Maybe they are thinking of opening an Ice Bar?
