At the car wash, at the car wash baby

A class at Riwaka School were having a fundraiser to get money for a trip to Wellington later in the year. A neighbours son was involved so blipmate and I called there on our way home from a trip to Stephens Bay and had the car washed. They were all soaking wet in the first hour but did a good job.

Blipmate and I leave tomorrow for a trip I won through Operatunity, the musical tour company we regularly go to see. Purchasing seasonal tickets for the first time (it is only our second year of going) my name got drawn out to win a trip for two called Frolicking in the Far North.
Trev not fit enough to go so of course Lizellen very kindly accepted the challenge.

We have had to purchase our own air tickets to Auckland and a night each side of the trip at a hotel but otherwise everything is paid for. First class accommodation for two nights in Auckland and five nights in Paihia.
The emphasis is on the Arts and Music so three Operatunity stars come along and sing at places like the church at Russell, a garden near Kerikeri, and the hotels where we dine.

We attend Macbeth at the Pop-Up Globe Theatre, we sail on a tall ship and also go dolphin spotting and back  along Ninety Mile Beach to Cape Reinga where we were this time last year. Quite hilarious that neither of us had been to the Far North before and now we will have been twice in a year.  All we need is for the weather to play ball.
