Battle Royal in Langside

I spent this afternoon in Langside (South side of Glasgow), and took this pic of the monument erected to commemorate the 'Battle of Langside' which was fought thereabouts on 13 May 1568.
The Lion atop the monument is said to mark the location which Mary Queen of Scots occupied to observe the battle between her troops and the opposing forces of James Stewart, Earl of Moray, and is positioned to overlook the field of battle itself.
Mary's forces were quickly defeated and the vanquished fled the scene.
