Les Enfants de Don Quichotte

The French call the homeless the children of Don Quixote, a rather poetic reference to Cervantes' hero as champion of the disenfranchised. A charity put up rows of tents for homeless people along the Canal St Martin in Paris to draw attention to the problem and the authorites have been shamed into providing some accommodation. There was no happy ending for the occupants of two adjacent tents who were found dead, reportedly from methadone overdose.
