Spiggie Beach

Quite often when I post a photo of "Spiggie Beach" someone will come back and say that this is not Spiggie Beach it is Scousburgh Sands. While this is true most people do refer to it as Spiggie Beach as it is the beach at Spiggie. Even the local authority now give it both names on signs. As all names are made up in the first place surely what most people call a place should be the name it is known by.?
