Sunset over the River Tyne

After a very interesting meeting in London, I travelled back to Edinburgh by train this evening in a packed and somewhat overheated sauna railway carriage.

The journey home has been lots of fun, largely due to the three women at my table: a palliative care consultant, an academic vet, and a medical rep (who drank 6 G&Ts between Kings Cross and Newcastle all by herself!) We shared all sorts of information, including book recommendations, and (inevitably) I have mutual friends with my travelling companions.

My blip is of the sun setting over the River Tyne at Newcastle. I always like to think that the water down there flowed by my parents' house earlier in the day.

Exercise today: walking (10,729 steps)
