Perfect day

It was a day of perfect proportions.  First thing after breakfast I stepped out into the cool morning air and took a tour of the gardens (I don't mean that to sound grand, it's just that our garden is split into 3 separate parts). Three hours of analysis and report writing followed. When I'm having a good day, like today, report writing is stimulating rather than being a chore.  N worked hard all morning too and then we had lunch together at the big table in the garden with the sun shining down.  Afternoon we went over to friends to help with more gardening, then coffee and world-putting-to-rights chat.  Home to aperos (langoustines and white wine) and dinner; turkey steaks lightly floured and fried in butter with tarragon, served with asparagus and a little gnocchi. That's me serving up.
