All quiet

9.7C with a light breeze. Felt better with gloves on.

Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk after lunch. To get back into our routine we decided to go up the road to the church and down to the shore through the field with the bridle path. The field next to our house has all been ploughed and harrowed, and I have to assume sown with a new crop. The road was caked in dried mud from the harvest of potatoes in the field beyond and behind the church, but easy enough to walk on. The field with the bridle path was surprisingly dry and the bales of straw are still all there. The sheep are still in the little field between the cycle path and the railway line. All in all everything is much as we left it :-)

Over the railway line at the level crossing and down onto the sand. High tide so not much beach to walk on. The sand was damp and very deep and soft so it was a bit of a plod. Still loads of seaweed too, beginning to break down in some places and feet thick in others. No one at the Fisherman's huts so we had a good look round and got some pics of tidy piles of fishing gear and piles of discarded fishing gear. I have put some B&W shots on the overflow blog.

No one at the cottages either today, so very quiet and peaceful for walking at Westhaven. At the car park end of the cottages I decided to go back down onto the beach and try to get a shot or two of 'Valhalla VI' lying at one of the inner moorings as I could get what sun there was behind me and some light on the boat. Bonus of some Cormorants on the channel marker poles :-)

Later Apothecary7 will come home from her first day back at work, and hopefully not too shattered. I wonder if she will have a blip.
