I heard the familiar sound of bees. :))))

More pollen in Large.

I don't usually shoot bees with a long lens (it's more of a macro thing for me), but I was really happy with the performance of my new lens (hand-held).  This particular bee was quite successful, as you can see it's pollen baskets were very full!  I'm not quite sure about the id of this bee though, it was too big to be a sweet bee.  It looks similar to a honey bee, but the backend is black and white instead of golden (see extra).  So, for now it'll have to go unidentified...

Since the birds didn't come through with anything interesting today... the bees flew into the top spot.
