The Rains come to Zomba

All day spent as co-chair - with the Malawian Foreign Minister - of the annual meeting of the Scotland / Malawi Joint Permanent Co-operation Commission.

The event is being held on the plateau above the town of Zomba and the venue has been shrouded in thick mist since we arrived yesterday late afternoon. But it cleared just as we started the morning session and again at lunchtime when I was able to take this picture, which looks east across what used to be called the Great Rift Valley but which is now more properly called the East African Rift.
