King protea detail 2

Well, I decided to try to improve on my efforts with this flower yesterday ( I didn't use it in the end), but showing the delicacy of colour and form is harder than it seems. The morning light is quite good, but maybe I need to try some different lighting options.

I missed out on a photo opportunity during this morning's walk, because it was cold and windy, so I concentrated on getting my woolly hat and forgot the camera. The light shining on the sea through the clouds was magic; at least I saw it.
