The Other Side

Walking today and we all set out on a new track (trail) being developed to run on the opposite side of the Clutha River, from Albert town to Luggate.
It sounded simple but get 19 old dogs and 1 younger one and confusion is likely to set in unless the lead dog takes a strong stance. So there we are tramping along this new track (no markers) and after a while someone notices (I had known this for 30 minutes) that there was no one behind us. Oh dear. So G offers to return and find the other group while we placed odds on them being at Lake Hawea by now.
To make matters worse there was a really sharp South Easterly wind. Most unusual in Wanaka and it was chilly, which I have noticed often makes old dogs grumpy.
So we decided to walk back and eventually met the missing group walking forward and together we miss read the markers, (The Boss didn't) went down hills 'cos it was warmer, Stayed on the tops 'Cos that's where the markers were, grumped about the smell 'Cos there was a huge irrigator spraying unmentionable stuff with the wind behind it, and eventually met up for lunch in a lovely sheltered spot where the Boss refused to let me sniff and dig holes 'Cos there had been a Pindone ( Rabbit poison) warning and he was being cautious. Then we went back and had the Café meet which many thought was the best bit. I slept in Suzz.
The Boss has made this big decision to use his iPhone for casual pictures and this one is the first time on a walk. It has been subject to Lightroom tweeks but he was very impressed when he saw it on his big monitor and his G12 may be under threat. (Not the OM-D) So what do you think?
It is the Clutha River downstream from the outlet.
