'train whistle blowing'...

...not quite yet but later in August there will be a bucket list tick....oh yeah.

The Ghan one of the great rail journeys not only in Aus but in the world.
This one is The Ghan Expedition from Darwin in the north of Australia to Adelaide in the south, travelling almost 3000km for a glorious four days and three nights.

There will be magics and mysteries, stories and and histories.
And perhaps cameleer trains following the steps of the Afghans and their camels who opened up Australia's heart and of course scratchings for opals, the fiery gems of Coober Pedy.

And as you can see...a pile of reading to do before then.
