The return of the frogs

When we first moved to our current house (20 years ago next month) our little pond was full of frogs.  Sadly, over the years the newts have gained ascendancy and the frogs eventually disappeared.  We've had a couple of goes at introducing frogspawn but with no success... until this year!  Actually we put in some tadpoles, giving them a little sanctuary of their own,  in a corner of the pond,  and they have flourished.  Better than that Mr MC has spotted a couple of very grown up frogs: the first in the pond yesterday and then this little chap who  found himself unexpectedly in our hall!  Mr MC popped him back into the pond and I quickly got a few shots of him posing on a lily pad.  Here's hoping the frogs are back for good.
In other news, Violet continues to be poorly, so much so that her mummy had to take her to the local hospital walk in clinic for a consultation and change of antibiotics last night.  Today she spent the day with us again and we really had hoped that she'd be very much on the mend this evening.  Sadly, her temperature kept rising during the day controlled only by Calpol/Ibuprofen.  At least the hospital consultant felt that she really must have her tonsils removed, so we're hoping that quickly happens and she can put all this behind her before she starts school in September.
I've included an extra of V with her grandpa during a temperature down, mood up interlude this afternoon
