Remembered

Today was Jon's birthday and we both took the day off.  It was pretty low key but one of the things we did get accomplished was putting a new coat of oil on Sumner's bench.  When a child is lost, the one thing the parent wants is for her or him to never be forgotten.  Admittedly, it's been a couple of months since I've been to this special spot and what a nice surprise awaited us.  Someone had left this little container just yesterday with a book and a pen inside.  An opportunity for anyone who comes to sit on the bench and ponder the natural beauty to sit and write something.  We were both pretty happy about this.  We also found a couple of other little treasures left behind - people who knew her or maybe who didn't.  Just nice that others are able to visit this special spot the way she did.

In Extra - a trip to the beach because the temperatures were above 90F with humidity pretty high for this time of year.  It was packed so we rode along the coast, found a quieter spot and had a lovely dinner to celebrate Jon's big day overlooking the tugboats.
