Tuesday 3 February 2009: Vanoise Express
The Vanoise Express is a massive pair of cable cars which link La Plagne to Les Arcs to form the Paradiski ski area.
We went over to Les Arcs today and found some great wide quiet pistes down through the trees just beyond the end of the cable car in Vallandry. A really lovely skiing day, including a sunny lunchtime - the forecast has been diametrically wrong all week, and we haven't had any of the fresh snow that the UK has been getting. However the stuff here is still in great shape from last week, so we've been pleased to have the good weather.
It was also a momentous day for me personally - the first time I have skied a full day on my Telemarks and not fallen over once! I might finally be getting the hang of these things.
