Red hot pokers

These distinctive plants were a common sight in South Africa when I was growing up, but I think this is the first time I've seen them in Scotland.

These ones growing beside the Forth & Clyde canal at Temple seemed appropriate on another scorcher of a day. Past their best maybe, but still quite special.

Extra - I enjoyed spending some time with Mabel today while Lulabel was busy.
