Whalley Arches

The longest and largest railway viaduct in Lancashire, Whalley Viaduct's 48 brick arches stride across the valley of the River Calder,

Over 7 million bricks were used in its construction (between 1846 and 1850).

It now carries the Ribble Valley Line over the River Calder.
