Street scene

Out the back of our building, the road is blocked to allow some works in the road which relate, presumably, to the new development going up there. This is just one of what feel like dozens of road works and street works around us. In fact, as we came back from the supermarket this morning, I joked to Mr A that Edinburgh City Council had obviously rented a job lot of temporary traffic lights from Scotland's leading Council in this area (Argyll County Council) and are determined to get them all out on the streets during the summer.

We've topped off a very pleasant weekend, with a wander around our local parades, up to the weir on the Trickle of Leith, and back down to the bend in the river. Earlier we had C and A, plus kids, for lunch and chats (and photography of the kitchen by A), and even earlier still I was concoting a Thai curry from the primary ingredients, after a trip to a certain supermarket in Comely Bank that is good for that sort of thing, first thing this morning.

Like I said. Topping off a very pleasant weekend indeed. In celebration of this odd weather, I've been adding to my Scottish summer album on flickr.
