Nyiramachabelli, the lone woman of the forest

First day in the Parc National des Volcans we decided to go for a muddy, challenging trek to reach Karisoke : Dian Fossey's research centre and pay a tribute to the woman that is the reason why the mountain gorillas are not extinct, she brought their plight to the attention of the international community and she died for that.

A very passionate woman, although she probably wouldn't agree at the amount of tourist visiting the gorillas and probably interfering with their natural wild behavior.

It was amazingly peaceful and incredible plants in the rain forest changing slowly with the altitude, we reached 3000m.
