In Rolvenden Yard

A busy and different day on the railway. No trainee or tastee with me in the box, only me on my own. It was meant to be a regular sort of day with the standard 5 train timetable and the Victorian Set on as well.

Then the Terrier in charge failed owing to a cork having fallen out from a oil well underneath the engine meaning the engine had to be taken off the train into the yard so that someone could get under the engine to replace the missing item.

This caused a delay in the service that we never really caught up with and resulted in crossing moves as Wittersham being out of kilter. Add to the mix a high fire risk and the result was some unusual workings to manage the situation.

It was all good experience, everything worked well without any problems and the day ended on a high in glorious weather.

Today’s blip is a sneaky glimpse of the Pannier and the Norwegian in Rolvenden Yard waiting their next duty.
