New and old

The new (refurbished) Dynamo stadium in Moscow as backdrop to the classic Soviet-era murals atop the adjacent metro station.  The stadium goes back to 1923 and the metro station, designed as a celebration of Soviet sport, to 1938. The stadium was at one stage considered as a World Cup venue (it never made the final cut).  The football pitch consequently moved 90 degrees to a north-south alignment.
