winter woollies....

inside one of our ECD centres!  The challenge in Zambia (and other parts of Southern Africa) is that homes and buildings are not made for cold weather!  There is no indoor heating, and so unless you move around, it is really very cold.  Today there was sunshine but a biting wind!

Bit disappointed today - over the last few months we have been having problems at one of our ECD centres in Lusaka.  Teachers are doing great, kids are wonderful but the committee that runs the centre is a disaster!  I gave them an ultimatum and said they must decide what they are going to do - either they start to work properly and run the centre well, or they close it.  Seems they have chosen to close it!  I am disappointed as I have worked with the teachers and the kids and the parents too, and they have come from a teacher centred learning environment to a place where kids come and play!  I have to meet with the committee tomorrow so not really looking forward to that!  

So looking forward to some time off next week!!
