I'm Just Looking

Triangle Triumph

I knew before going away on this ride that my 365th blip was going to occur while on day 3 - the final 140km from Taihape to Taupo. Originally thought I'd stop and take a photo when my odometer hit 365km but technical issues meant it had not been working for some of the journey.

Instead, you get a shot of 3 of our group winding through a part of the Desert Road known as the Three Sisters. The one in the front is Fi, who had taken a tumble after clipping the wheel in front a bit earlier and hurt her hip. There was no way she was going to give up this close to home (still over 100km to go) and even a hail storm about 15 minutes before this pic didn't stop her.

Got to Turangi for a pie, the sun came out and a lovely 40km ride home in the sun to finish (and we had a tail wind for the last 5km!!!).

Many thanks to the team for an awesome 3 days - well done Dave (aka Mrs Brown) and her boys - Vicky, Fi, Wayne, Andrew, Warwick, Nicko, Nick, Alex and Darrell, and special thanks to Janine, Sandra and Dale for driving the support vehicles - the inaugural Mrs Brown's Boys Epic Central North Island Triangle Tour would not have been possible without you.
