Tree carvings

Gill and I visited the Maclaurin Art Gallery this morning to see Ayr Sketch Club's exhibition, and although much of the work was impressive, we were more taken by Troon Art Club's exhibition yesterday. I was sorely tempted to buy one of the paintings...but I resisted.

After lunch in the gallery's café I sought out the amazing chainsaw carvings of WW1 soldiers in the grounds of Rozelle Park. More about them here if you're interested.

Another very dreich day which made my drive home unpleasant and not helped by road closures and roadworks.
