The Shack

Start of a family weekend to Heybridge, near Goldhanger where dad and later I, spent summer holidays in a Victorian railway carriage left to my grandad (additional pic). Dad sold it in 2007 to a railway enthusiast as the land it was on was to be built upon. It was so sad to see it go and we've not been back to that neck of the woods many times since.

We missed some birthdays and anniversaries early on this year with hospital stays and illness etc so thought it would be a nice chance to get away for the weekend and spend some time together somewhere we have happy memories and can relax watching the tide come in and out and drinking coffee on the balcony.

We did exactly that, with a fish and chippy tea the first night as the sun set.
