Air Pollution

You'd be forgiven for thinking this is tonight's sunset - It isn't - the colour is all due to air pollution..

The view is looking roughly south-east.

The weather was calm but it had been drizzling for some time most of the afternoon but then eased off and visibility improved a little.

What little air movement there was, was from west to east. That was bringing all the pollution from industries across Scotland's central belt, out through the natural vent of the Forth Estuary.

However, the bird survived and Jonathan Livingston Seagull lives to fly another day.

The prominent building is Cockenzie Power Station.

This is in stark contrast to the last time I blipped this power station when the chimneys stood out white against the background.
