from the active travel budget

On Middle Meadow Walk, the give way lines could sort of have some kind of legality, as Middle Meadow Walk is a road which is no longer open to motor vehicles, though the lack of accompanying signs on poles would be a problem. The Goldenacre path and associated wee side bits are not roads, so give way lines have no power beyond suggestion, but careful people are already careful and antisocial turnips remain resistant to any suggestion that they should slow down, look around or not be selfish bastards all the time.
