Captain's Logbook

Constable Country.

Off to Ipswich today with Mr H for a badminton tournament. I was tipped off by one the the mums, that there was this place called Flatford where Constable painted his landscapes. His father's mill is still there (scene of a navigable river 1816-17 /i]) as is Willy Lott's house (The Hay-Wain 1820-21).

I walked along the canal to Dedham which was very pretty. Blipped another house built 1614 in the shadow of the church and some landscapes.

Walking around Flatford on one hill there was a bench and this permanent picture frame mounted straight in front of it. Madness if you ask me. Who is the person who is effectively saying you must look here.

Anyway a bunch of youngsters appeared and photographed themselves in the frame which gave me this idea.

The tournament was good, Mr H and his partner played well and enjoyed themselves but no silverware to take home today. It was an adult tournament so they weren't downhearted. Maybe no travelling tomorrow yippee.
