"Mairie" at Ecausseville

The usual expression used in English for a French Mairie is a Town Hall.  Local government in France is somewhat different - every commune, whatever its size, has a mayor and thus also a Mairie.

Ecausseville has fewer than 100 inhabitants.  Its Mairie is open on Saturdays only, its opening hours are 11.00 to 12.30

Attached to the Mairie is a notice stating that it will be closed for the last three weeks months of August, as the Mayor is on holiday.  His mobile phone number is provided for emergencies.

I just wonder whether weddings can be held over the telephone.  The religious service can of course be held in the church just over the road.
