Rare sight

The tui is one of NZ's most well known , boisterous, confident and characterful native birds. They're not rare , so why the title? It's illegal to have them in captivity, so you wont see them in any aviary here or overseas unless , it's being held illegally or , as in the case of this one the keeper is licensed from the Dept of Conservation to rehabilitate injured native birds.

Was hard to choose a photo today, a number of favourites, including some shots I really liked of feral cats that have been tamed and are up for adoption. Talk about character. So this one is photographically one of the weakest, there was no opportunity to set anything up, but I like the story.
