the beatles...

..arrived in Adelaide at the start of their Australian tour in 1964 and were greeted by 300,000! no doubt screaming fans.
But this not the Fab Four as we know them.

Ringo had been hospitalized with tonsillitis before the tour started and Jimmy Nicol replaced him and was the Beatles drummer at the start of the tour in Hong Kong and then to Adelaide after which he went home.
Well that was unexpected!

To commemorate the famous visit a glass installationwill be fitted to the Town Hall balcony where John, Paul, George and Jimmy greeted crowds. The artwork is photo-realistic and created using multiple reference images from The Beatles’ time in Adelaide. The artwork is fired onto a sheet of 15mm thick toughened glass and is expected to be the largest installation of its kind in Adelaide.
